Merlin's Success Story

Welcome to rescue, Merlin!

This is the boy that was dumped in Bastrop like trash two nights ago. He is safe and in Kim’s hands for a few days. After evaluation, he will move to a foster home. His name is in honor of the first Doberman she rescued in 1990, also a cropped blue male. He’s pretty shut down (understandable), but underneath it all, I believe he’s a very sweet boy.

Scanned again for a chip—none. No tattoos. No issues with the blood draw for heartworm test (NEGATIVE!) or with my putting a Capstar down his throat. Cleaned his nasty ears, and you could tell it felt really good and he enjoyed it. Then we had a bath. He enjoyed the scrubbing and by the looks of the water, it had been a while! Best boy for that too.

He is crated and will decompress in a quiet room away from the other dogs. We will keep everyone updated and will post on multiple sites in an attempt to find an owner. While he was witnessed being dumped, we still make every effort in the event he was stolen from the original owner. The owner will need to provide photos and vet records to claim. He will be available for adoption after 30 days and full vetting/neuter.
