We feel it is important to explain some of the details of working with our rescue. Your signature below will acknowledge these items: Legacy Doberman Rescue is a non- profit rescue organization that specializes in the rescue, rehabilitation and placement of homeless Dobermans in the state of Texas. As such, we all have full time jobs and may take a day or two to get back with you regarding your application. All Dobermans are placed on a legally binding adoption contract with a clause that if adoption fails for any reason, the Doberman must be returned to us. As a rescue organization, the genetics, health, past living situation or history of the Doberman you adopt is likely unknown. Legacy Doberman Rescue will fully evaluate the Dobermans temperament prior to placement. The Doberman will be microchipped, free from intestinal parasites, fully vaccinated and spayed or neutered prior to placement in a home. All dogs are tested for heartworm prior to placement and on monthly preventative. If the Doberman you are interested in is positive for heartworms, we will discuss your options and may be willing for you to foster the Doberman and formally adopt after the dog is treated or tests negative for heartworm. We charge a nominal adoption fee for all Dobermans adopted. Fees range based on the dogs age and in nearly every case, the expense we have incurred on the dog will be greater than the fee charged. We currently charge $400 for dogs under 9 months of age, $350 for dog 9 months to 7 years and $200 for dogs over 7 years of age. Adoption fees are subject to change at any time. You will agree to home visit, personal reference and vet checks prior to adoption. All members of your family must be present at the meet and greet and any dogs in your family will need to meet the perspective Doberman as well.
